We always say “Tiger Pride,” but do we really understand what we mean when we say it? “Tiger Pride” is our culture; it is who we are as a team. Our culture is the pursuit of excellence, not accepting losing, and doing whatever it takes to accomplish our goals.
These following characteristics help explain “Tiger Pride.”
Character- what do we do when no one is watching?
Discipline- self-discipline, must live a disciplined life to be your best, on time
Trust- low egos, lay your heart on the line, believe in your teammates and coaches
Love- deep concern for others, not just out there for yourself
Toughness- mental, physical, no fear, never say die attitude, never back down
Intelligent- stay away from negativity, students of the game, live right
Competitive- Refuse to be 2nd place, hungry for your best, compete at everything
Accountability- No Excuses, hold up your end, control the things you can control
Enthusiasm- excitement=energy=effort=excellence, enthusiasm is contagious
Commitment- I AM ALL IN, want to be here, realize we are fortunate
Responsibility- know your role/responsibility, accept it, be good at it
Leadership- Influence others to help achieve the goals of the team
Together- Band of Brothers, we are all in this together, I play for my brother
So, when you say “Tiger Pride” do you really mean it?
